Our Events

Our annual Walk-a-Thon Sept. 26 was loads of fun! Nearly 200 walkers enjoyed a beautiful Saturday early morning at Cranes Roost Park in Uptown Altamonte, walking to provide new shoes and other basic help for children in need and their families.

Our theme this year was “Fox Trot,” and graciously performing duties of honorary chair was Greg Fox of WESH-TV 2. Besides walking, kids enjoyed the bounce house, face painting and balloon animals. There was music by Undercover Alien, and vendor booths featuring everything from personalized embroidery creations to HUGE ice cream cones. (After the ice cream and other snacks, parents were glad Nicole Rawlins was out there passing out kids’ toothbrushes at husband Jim’s Dental World booth!)

We owe the success of the walk to all those children and adults who got so many kind people to sponsor them in their walk, and, of course,  to our wonderful sponsors!
