Everyone goes at their own pace at the CROP Hunger Walk, held March 20 at the beautiful Cranes Roost Park in Uptown Altamonte. About 150 walkers turned out for a beautiful Sunday afternoon stroll to raise money for The Sharing Center and hunger needs around the world. The event is sponsored by Church World Service. What is CROP? Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty (around the world).
The Christian Sharing Center was honored to co-host a Prayer Breakfast on March 10 with Longwood Police Chief Troy Hickson. Held at Longwood Community Bldg. Special thanks to program leaders: Chief Hickson, Longwood Police Chaplain Kevin Tuck, pastor of The Lighthouse Church; Dr. Chris Whaley, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Longwood and a chaplain with Seminole County Fire Dept. We also enjoyed wonderful music presented by Linda Dares, Director of Music at Sanlando United Methodist Church, and Nelda Malm, a member at SUMC. Angie Romagosa, President of The Sharing Center, addressed the group on local community needs, and a couple of people we have helped recently shared testimonials. All in all, a lovely and inspiring way to start the day!
