Oasis closed Good Friday, April 18
Homeless children and adults may come to The Sharing Center Oasis in Longwood, to take a shower, have clothes washed, get a haircut, and use computers for schoolwork and job searches. No appointment needed, just walk in. You must present picture ID. If you have questions, call the Oasis at 407.260.9155 x145.
Please ask to be connected with a service coordinator to learn about other help and resources for basic needs, medical care, work opportunities and counseling.
The Oasis is located with other Sharing Center services on a bus stop at 600 N. US Hwy. 17-92, Longwood, FL 32750 - approx. one-half mile north of intersection of State Road 434 and Hwy. 17-92.
Hours the Oasis is open for individuals & families: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Closed Thursdays and holidays. Hours are subject to change as need arises. (At times, it becomes necessary for us to close our doors earlier because of an unusually high number of people applying for help. We apologize for any inconvenience this might incur and ask your understanding.)
The only facility of its kind located in Seminole County, The Sharing Center Oasis gives homeless and precariously housed families an ability to retain their dignity in their struggle to get back to stability, safety and self-sufficiency.
Opened in October of 2011, the Oasis offers shower and laundry facilities. A barber chair was donated so that volunteer hair stylists can give free haircuts. There are computers where kids can do schoolwork & adults can job search.
What a difference the Oasis makes! ‘Marcia’ can tell you first-hand: Jobless and homeless after having “worked since I was 15 years old,” she sighed softly after her shower & shampoo, saying “This goes a long way to help you feel normal when you’re in a situation that’s not normal.”
