Opened in October of 2011, the Oasis offers shower and laundry facilities. A barber chair was donated so that volunteer hair stylists can give free haircuts. There are computers where kids can do schoolwork & adults can job search.
What a difference the Oasis makes! ‘Marcia’ can tell you first-hand: Jobless and homeless after having “worked since I was 15 years old,” she sighed softly after her shower & shampoo, saying “This goes a long way to help you feel normal when you’re in a situation that’s not normal.”
