Meet the President

Angie Romagosa is President/CEO of The Christian Sharing Center, Inc., a faith-based non-profit agency helping families with basic needs during personal financial crises. Angie guides The Sharing Center's day-to-day operations and represents The Sharing Center in the Seminole County community.

Angie has led The Sharing Center since it opened in 1986 in a tiny 2-room office to its present location in Longwood, Florida, occupying 13,200 sq. ft. in a strip mall the center purchased as a permanent home for its food pantry, casework, corporate offices and The Sharing Center Thrift Store, which generates approximately one-fifth of The Sharing Center funds. A satellite office in Sanford provides easier access for help to residents in northwest Seminole County.

In its first year, The Sharing Center assisted 500 families through Angie's efforts as part-time Director. She recruited a handful of volunteers to pack groceries, fold clothing and answer phones, while she listened to the needs of people seeking help and identified ways to assist them. Last year, 14,191 families sought help at The Sharing Center, which now has a staff of 23 employees and 250 volunteers.

Angie is a frequent speaker and recognized authority on the growing problem of poverty and homelessness in Seminole County. She serves on Seminole County Cooperative Extension Service Overall Advisory Committee and the Seminole County Committee on Aging. She is certified through Rollins College Philanthropy Center as a coach for new executive directors.

Angie was honored as a "Community" Hero in 2008 from Safeco Insurance for "her extraordinary dedication to helping others and inspiring change within her community." In 2003 and 2004, Mrs. Romagosa was nominated as one of Orlando's Women Who Make Magic, has been recognized as the City of Longwood Business Person of the Month and received a Community Leadership Award. The Sharing Center was named 2007 "Community Champion of the Year" by Seminole Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Angie studied social work at Armstrong State College, Savannah, GA. She resides with her husband, Mark, in Longwood, where they raised two children, and have seven grandchildren.
